CALL FOR
PAPERS AND TUTORIALS The
9th International Conference on Database
Systems for Advanced Applications (DASFAA 2004) Seogwipo KAL Hotel, Jeju Island, KOREA March 17-19, 2004 http://aitrc.kaist.ac.kr/~dasfaa04 This conference
provides an international forum for technical discussion among researchers,
developers and users of database systems from academia, business and
industry. DASFAA focuses on research in database theory, development of
advanced DBMS technologies, and their advanced applications. A premier
database conference in the Asia/Pacific region, DASFAA has been held every two years in many countries in the
region. To promote
further and to answer the need of many participants, the Steering Committee decided to hold the conference
annually. DASFAA2004 is
the first such conference after it is made annual.
Original
papers concerned with both theory and practice are solicited. The areas of

Papers (Due: Aug 19, 2003): Authors are invited to submit the
title, author(s), email address of the contact author, and abstract of the
paper to the following URL http://aitrc.kaist.ac.kr/~dasfaa04 by August 12, 2003.
The full paper in PDF format must be submitted by August 19, 2003 to the same
URL. Each paper should consist of a cover page with title, authors' names,
postal and e-mail addresses, an approximately 200 word summary, up to 5
keywords and a body not longer than 12 single-spaced pages with font size at
least 11 pts. Authors are strongly encouraged to use Springer's manuscript
submission guidelines, available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html
for their initial submission. Inquiries should be directed to Program

Proposals for Tutorials (Due: July 22, 2003): Each tutorial proposal should include a
one-page description of the subject matter, the name, affiliation, and the
biography of the speaker. Submissions should be sent to the Tutorial Chairs. (shim@ee.snu.ac.kr, jwang@ist.psu.edu) Detailed instruction
for tutorial proposal will be made available at the conference web site.
Accepted papers will appear
in proceedings published by Springer-Verlag as part of their Lecture Notes in
