Namwon Keuneong
An untamed place
comparable to that of southern
tropical countries,
there is a huge rock which looks
like a mouth opening to
swallow nature. The black
lava rocks with cracks
like a tortoise shell, the emerald
green sea, the sound of
the crashing waves, the soft
green grass covering the
whole area create beautiful visual contrast.

Along the coastal road, and winding a fishing village, you get to arrive
at Seopjikoji.
On its hill, there spread fascinating views of the serene and the clear
blue waters,
wide stretch of green grass, a standing rock(30m high and 15m wide)
headed to sky
in the sea with a living legend, a hillock covered with red volcanic
ashes unique to Jeju
and lighthouse. To the far sight, Seongsan Ilchul-bong (Sunrise Peak)
and Udo (island)
come into sight with a panoramic view. "Seopji" stems from
that the physical aspect of
this village would produce plenty of talented persons, and
"Koji" means a small gulf
in Jeju Dialect.
Seongsan Ilchulbong Park
The Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, which
means "Sunrise Peak",
is located 48 km east of Jeju City
on the Seongsan Peninsula.
It is a volcanic cone rising 182 m
high with a huge crater
covering over 99,174 square meters.
The crater resembles
the shape of a crown, with 99
curious rock peaks around it.
The peak is famous for its
spectacular view, especially at sunrise. From the west port, a 120-ton
ferry cruises around Seongsan
Ilchulbong Peak and nearby Udo Island every hour. Listed as the
first of the Ten Scenic Splendors
of Jeju Island, it was designated as Local Monument No. 36.

Magic (Dokaebi) Road
A
strange phenomenon occurs on this hill. A car in
neutral
seems to go up the hill by itself. This is a kind
of optical illusion in
which lower places look higher.
Miniature Mini World
You can find the world's
most famous tourist attractions including the Colosseum of Rome,
the Eiffel Tower of
Paris, the Sydney Opera House, and Niagara Falls in North America. As
they are a collection from a kingdom of little
people, they are small in size, but the
details and the finish are superb. The history of the last millennia is
reproduced in miniature
form, and the mysterious
beauty of the East and the romance of the West are unified in
perfect harmony.
Sangumburi
Crater
Sangumburi Crater is a parasite volcano and quite
unique
in that the crater is located in a field area and
not on the top
of a mountain. The crater measures some 100 meters
from the
rim to the crater floor an about 650 meters in
diameter with a
total area of approximately 320,100 sq. meters.
Seongeup Folk village
Located at the foot of Mt. Halla, Seongeup Folk village has
perfectly preserved Korean tradition. Its way of life is protected,
as it has been designated a Folk Village because of the vast
amount of cultural property here.
Refreshing waves break
against the rocks and dark-red hexagonal stone pillars unfold as if god
stacked piles like a
folding screen on the east coast of Jungmun Tourist Complex. Jusangjeolli,
where natures's grandeur
is so clear was designated as a Cultural asset monument No. 50.
It was created by the
erosion from ocean waves and ancient winds. When you see the
Jusangjeolli, you can
picture the heartbreaking work of the stonecutter.
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
One
kilometer from Seogwipo Port, visitors see a valley with many
curious
rock formations and tropical forest. At the end of the valley,
22m
high and 12m wide Cheonjiyeon Waterfall presents you
picturesque
view of falls with a large quantity of falling water.
